The fully featured version, JIC-IN-A-BOX Online, is available on the web at http://jiab.jicreg.co.uk.
JIC-IN-A-BOX is used by over 110 subscribing companies, including 60 advertising agencies and advertisers and 4 publishers and sales houses. These include 18 of the top 20 advertising agencies ranked by display adspend in the regional press during 2009.
The use of JIC-IN-A-BOX continues to grow as more companies discover how it can help to quantify the effectiveness of regional and local media campaigns, particularly when data is linked to mapping and schedule analysis software packages.
JIC-IN-A-BOX offers detailed audience information for any marketing or catchment area.
Pre-set areas include:
- locations (towns and villages)
- newspaper circulation areas
- postcode districts
- counties
- ILR areas
- ISBA areas
- ITV areas
- Registrar General areas
- Local government areas
Users can also build customised areas based upon a list of postcode sectors or drive time areas derived from mapping systems, which can be downloaded straight into JIC-IN-A-BOX. This enables analysis of drive time or other catchment areas.
Readership data is now available for 153 combined demographics, such as ABC1 Adults aged 15-34, AB Men and ABC1C2 Women.
As well as providing a number of pre-designed readership reports, data can also be downloaded into spreadsheet and word processing packages, enabling tailor-made reports to be produced. Users are also able to save any catchment area created in JIC-IN-A-BOX, saving the trouble of having to re-create them at a later date.
Another function available on JIC-IN-A-BOX is the 'reports wizard' which gives users the option of creating a customised report structure (which they are able to save), choosing only the data fields they require. This can be very useful if specific reports frequently have to be produced for a client. The reports wizard also enables multiple areas to be analysed on one report.

Users can link directly from JIC-IN-A-BOX reports to BRAD Intelligence, providing extensive advertising rate, contact and mechanical data for local newspapers.
